Bryce Canyon LOD
Quote from Mike Leuthold on November 19, 2024, 1:30 pmDemoken,
Is it possible to increase the LOD for Bryce Canyon? I ask because the hoodoos (rock spires) are not well resolved when flying low, in a helicopter for example.
There is a quite large elevation jump between the default scenery and your Bryce Canyon. While it isn't a problem elsewhere, near KBCE, it is quite distracting.
Other than that, it looks great from an elevation of 500ft AGL and above.
thanks.

I made it low for performance reasons, ZION & Bryce LOD 16-18. lol
I used to do 17-19/17-20 so I'll add a new high-res version soon.
Now MSFS 2024 is at 15% load... I'd like to test add-on compatibility.
Thanks for your feedback

I have a fast PC/graphics, so higher LOD should not be a problem.
thanks.

Quote from Mike Leuthold on November 21, 2024, 1:46 pmZion looks MUCH better with the higher LODs. Thank you.
However, I've noticed a strange texture problem on some vertical cliffs(image #1). Looking at the Google Maps imagery, I see the same thing(#2). If I zoom in, the correct texture is loaded(#3). You would have to download the highest-resolution imagery from GE to make this disappear. I have no idea if this is possible. #4 is zoomed out so you can see the location, which is in the main canyon.
Keep up the good work!

Did you get 2024 loaded and running? I see from the tube and forums that the rollout of 2024 is not good. I'm still going to wait a while.

Yep! the feeling of bad launch was related to the servers, but it is no longer the case now, only there are lots of bugs and optimization problems,
there is no update, the OneStore packages is empty.
some of my mods work but a large part are not yet ready, missing trees and terraforming issue.
I think we have to wait for an update, and let's hope for a google earth optimization tool compatible with FS2024
